For more than two decades, Coco Mademoiselle has lived primarily on the perfume counter – warm, spiced, unmistakably French, and a rite of passage for the CHANEL woman. This Fall 2026, CHANEL extends that identity into beauty products with its first-ever Coco Mademoiselle makeup capsule, launched on Gabrielle Chanel’s birthday – August 19.
The launch is limited and considered, built around a palette of mauve, pink, brown, and platinum that reflects Coco Mademoiselle’s polished sense of femininity.
The eyeshadow palette is drawing the most attention, and it is easy to understand why. The colour story moves away from a traditional bronze smoky eye and into cooler taupes, muted roses, and platinum accents.
Early hands-on reviews suggest the payoff changes considerably depending on the application method. A fluffy brush creates a softer wash of colour, while a denser brush builds greater intensity. A creamy base underneath can also help the shadows grip and appear more saturated.
On warmer or olive skin tones, several of the shades pull distinctly cool. The palette therefore reads more taupe-and-rose than conventionally smoky, making it the piece most worth swatching in person before purchasing.

The new Rouge Coco Crush shade sits within familiar CHANEL territory, but with a collectible detail that sets it apart. The soft mauve has been compared with shades such as Flying Cloud and Mademoiselle, landing somewhere between the two: cooler than Mademoiselle and less overtly pink than Flying Cloud.
The differences may become more subtle on deeply pigmented lips, where the natural lip tone can influence the final colour. The engraved double-C bullet, however, gives the lipstick a distinct appeal for collectors and long-time CHANEL beauty enthusiasts.

Le Vernis in Coco may be the quiet standout of the launch. The pale, milky pink has a balanced neutral undertone that avoids pulling noticeably warm or cool.
Two coats create full opacity, resulting in a soft, polished everyday manicure. It is understated rather than statement-making – exactly the quality that may make it one of the most wearable pieces in the collection.

The Coco Mademoiselle makeup collection succeeds because it does not overcomplicate the idea. Rather than building an extensive range around the fragrance, CHANEL has chosen a small group of products that capture its mood through colour.
Mauve, rose, soft brown, and pink create a beauty wardrobe that feels polished without becoming overly precious. The strongest pieces are also the most versatile: a neutral nail colour, a nuanced lipstick, and an eyeshadow palette that offers room for experimentation.
What makes the launch most interesting is what it represents for Coco Mademoiselle itself. The fragrance has always carried a strong visual identity, but until now, that identity remained largely implied. This collection makes it tangible. For the first time, the attitude associated with Coco Mademoiselle can move beyond the bottle and onto the face, lips, and hands.
It is a small collection, but perhaps that is precisely the point. CHANEL is not creating a new version of Coco Mademoiselle. It is simply giving its existing character another way to be seen.
Availability and pricing may vary by region and retailer.
