I love that Coco Chanel’s favourite flower happens to be composed of various beauty and skincare benefits. In this particular case, it’s camellia oleifera oil that’s used in the Le Base Camelia base coat for the nails to nourish and hydrate. This product can be used as a base coat under nail polish, creating a smoothness to the nails or it can be used on its own. When used on its own, it gives the nails a natural, rosy finish. According to chanel.com, “after one month of use, the nails look more beautiful than ever: they are stronger, more visibly nourished, and naturally shinier. More than just a base coat, this treatment enhances the appearance of the nails day after day.” I’ve been using this product and have noticed an improvement in the colour and texture of my nails. I also love the look of my nails with a single coat of La Base Camelia when I want to keep things simple and natural looking.
