CHANEL’s Spring/Summer 2025 Haute Couture show, held at the Grand Palais in Paris, marked a significant moment as the house celebrated 110 years of Haute Couture creation. The collection, designed by the Creative Studio, paid homage to Gabrielle Chanel’s rich legacy while embracing themes of movement and progression from day to night.
The collection opened with none other than a classic CHANEL suit. This interpretation included a pastel rainbow coloured vest with matching buttons and a shorter hemline on the skirt, clearly indicating the tone of the collection. Light, fun and fresh. The looks continued like a kaleidoscope of colours in sequence from whites, to pastels, to bold and bright hues, to navy and black, ending with ethereal whites and some shimmering iridescent pieces. The final look was of course the couture bride, wearing a pleated tulle dress, cut just above the knee in the front with a beautiful full train at the back. Over the dress, the bride wore a classic sequined cardigan-style jacket and upon her head a fascinator complete with a veil.

In true couture fashion, the savoir-faire was on full display. Beautiful embroidery, feathers, ruffles, braiding and sequins were used throughout suits and evening gowns, radiating CHANEL style. The runway itself was also constructed in true CHANEL style. The models walked along two independent curved, sloped platforms, which from above resembled two almost interlocking C’s.
This collection demonstrated CHANEL’s ability to honor its storied past while looking forward, offering a fresh and dynamic interpretation of its enduring codes.
