Classic codes softened, accessories amplified, and textures enriched. As we have seen through the CHANEL Spring/Summer 2026 Ready-to-Wear and Métiers d’Art 2026 collections, fashion in 2026 is going to be about grounding elegance in everyday life while celebrating boldness, clever details, and personal expression. Let’s take a closer look at the five major trends you can prepare for in 2026.
A multitude of varying textures – feathers, fringes, tweeds, silks, and embroidery – are being used in combination to complete a look creating rich surface play. These layered textures add motion and tactility, while making an outfit fascinating to look at.
The Métiers d’Art collection heavily focused on animal prints, with leopard print making a significant return for 2026. Cherecked, plaid and unconventional patterns in contrasting colours also had a strong presence in both collections. Confidence will be key here, while wearing these bold pattern mixes.
Coats over jackets, long tunics over pants, long gloves with a sweater, exposed undergarments above the waistline of a skirt. Layering with various pieces allows the opportunity to add depth to a look. It’s also a great way to keep warm on those cooler days or to alter your look as you move through your day.
For CHANEL, statement accessories are nothing new. They are built into the DNA of the house. But now under Matthieu Blazy’s creative direction, we’re seeing the modernization of the classics. Bags, shoes and brooches have taken on new shapes and forms, and they will be key this year.
This was Coco Chanel’s mission – everyday comfort and wearability. Clothing crafted from high quality materials and constructed to fit and flow with the body. For 2026, this isn’t as much a trend as it is the true CHANEL style. White button down shirts, flowing pants, luxurious cardigans and knee length skirts feel extremely wearable while also looking well put together.
